This project aims to investigate the role that art plays in generating more awareness in the processes that structure the perceptual-cognitive-emotional information of the self within the environment. Most of these processes happen in an unconscious manner that tend to generate repetitive patterns that lead us to sustain a pre-elaborated relationship with the world around us, where values remain unchanged. In ecological terms, such a pre-fixed value system allows for a negative relationship of the self -that is, of the human species- to nature as the environment is still experienced as a reified value subject to exploitation.

Embodied Cognition is based on the fact that we do not react (ie act, feel or think) to reality but to what we perceive from reality: that is, we react according to how we organize perception at an emotional and symbolic level. Such a reaction creates a Cognitive model that crystallizes in cultural patterns and symbolic projections that Art, due to its disruptive nature, should be able to question, revise and renew. The making of art itself is based precisely on the selection and interpretation of perceptions and sensations that are translated into a new form. Art has also the capacity of perpetuating existing models or breaking them which, in the latter case, allows for new "ways of seeing": that is, new ways of feeling and thinking about reality.
